Tettra alternatives in 2026: six Slack knowledge tools compared

Tettra costs $8 per user a month billed yearly, or $10 monthly, with a 10-user minimum. The main Tettra alternatives are Guru and Slite for verified wikis, Question Base and Kipwise for Slack answer bots, Slab for a free wiki, and Enhanciar for answers from Slack, email, Drive, tickets and code at $100 a month for up to 10 people.

Disclosure: we make Enhanciar, one of the six tools below. Every competitor price links to that vendor’s own page, and we say plainly where another tool is the better pick.

What Tettra does well

Tettra is an internal knowledge base built around one problem: the same questions asked again and again in Slack. Its AI bot, Kai, searches your Tettra pages and answers in Slack DMs and channels. It can also pull answers from past Slack threads, summarise threads, and turn repeated questions into FAQ pages. On the upkeep side it has page verification, reports on stale and unowned pages, and page requests (Tettra pricing and plan details).

That focus is Tettra’s strength. If your team is on Slack, writes things down, and wants someone to own each page, it does the job at a fair price.

What Tettra costs

  • Scaling: $8 per user a month billed yearly, or $10 billed monthly. 10-user minimum, so at least $80 a month on yearly billing or $100 on monthly.
  • Enterprise: custom pricing, with lower per-user rates for large seat counts. SSO (SAML) and SCIM are paid add-ons on Scaling and included on Enterprise.
  • No free plan. There is a 30-day trial; a card is needed once it ends.

Why teams look for a Tettra alternative

  1. They are on Microsoft Teams. Tettra’s integrations page lists Slack, Google Workspace, GitHub and Zapier. Teams was not on it when we checked.
  2. The 10-seat minimum. A team of four still pays for ten.
  3. Their knowledge lives in Notion, Confluence or Drive. Tettra can import content, but its listed live integrations are short.
  4. Nobody keeps the pages current. Verification only helps if owners act on the reminders.
  5. They want the bot to do more than answer. For example, file the ticket or draft the reply after the answer.

The short version

  • Need Slack and Microsoft Teams, with strong verification, at a larger company? Guru.
  • Want a nicer wiki to write in, with AI search across tools? Slite.
  • Want a Slack bot that learns from docs you already have in Drive, Confluence and Notion? Question Base or Kipwise.
  • Want a free wiki for a small team? Slab.
  • Want answers from Slack, Gmail, Drive, Notion, Jira and GitHub without writing pages, plus the follow-up drafted for approval? Enhanciar.

Stay on Tettra, or pick Guru or Slab, if
  • Your team writes pages and you want named owners and verification dates on each one.
  • You want a written source of truth that new hires can read start to finish.
  • You need Microsoft Teams (Guru) or a free tier (Slab).
Choose Enhanciar if
  • Your answers live in Slack threads, Gmail, Drive, Notion, Jira, Linear, Zendesk and GitHub, and nobody has time to copy them into a wiki.
  • You want every answer to link to its exact source, and a clear “I don’t know” when it cannot find one.
  • You want the next step drafted (a ticket, a reply, a Notion page, a calendar event) and a person to approve it.
  • You want one flat price for up to 10 people instead of a 10-seat minimum.

The six alternatives in more detail

1. Enhanciar

Enhanciar takes the opposite approach to Tettra. Instead of asking people to write and verify pages, it reads the tools where the work already happens: Slack, Gmail, Google Drive, Calendar, Notion, Confluence, Jira, Linear, Zendesk, GitHub and Postgres. Anyone, from sales to support to engineering, asks a question on the web or in Slack and gets the answer with a link to the source. When two sources disagree, it says so. When it does not know, it can ask the most likely teammate in Slack and keep the reply.

After the answer, it drafts the follow-up: a Jira, Linear or GitHub issue, a Slack post, a Gmail draft, a Notion page or a calendar event. Each one waits for a person to approve it. Limits to know: no wiki editor, no free plan, no Microsoft Teams app, no CRM connector yet, and the SOC 2 audit is in progress.

2. Guru

Guru is the closest match to Tettra’s verification model, built for bigger teams. Knowledge is stored as cards that experts re-check, and AI answers with citations appear in Slack, Microsoft Teams and the browser. Guru now sells through sales with custom pricing (Guru pricing). Our longer write-ups: Enhanciar vs Guru and Guru alternatives.

3. Slite

Slite is a docs and wiki tool that is pleasant to write in. Basic ($10 per member a month, billed yearly) answers from Slite docs; Pro ($20) adds Slite Agent and search across connected tools such as Slack and Jira (Slite pricing). See Slite alternatives and Enhanciar vs Slite.

4. Question Base

Question Base is a Slack answer agent. You connect sources such as Google Drive, Confluence and Notion, and it answers in Slack channels; experts can save or correct answers so it improves (Question Base). Pricing is yearly: Annual Pro is listed from $6,000 a year, or $5 per user a month, and a two-month pilot is $1,000 (Question Base pricing). More in Question Base alternatives.

5. Kipwise

Kipwise runs a knowledge agent inside Slack that answers with links to sources and respects each person’s permissions. It is $10 per user a month with a 3-user minimum, and each seat includes $5 of AI credit a month plus $2 of shared team credit, with top-ups charged at cost (Kipwise pricing). Good for small Slack teams that want a bot more than a wiki.

6. Slab

Slab is a clean team wiki, free for up to 10 users. Startup is $6.67 and Business is $12.50 per user a month, billed yearly; AI Ask starts on Business (Slab pricing). Pick it if you want Tettra’s “write it down once” habit for less money.

A quick test before you switch

  1. List the 20 most viewed Tettra pages and the 20 most asked Slack questions from last month.
  2. For each question, check whether the answer is in a Tettra page, a Slack thread, a doc in Drive or Notion, or a ticket.
  3. If most answers are in Tettra pages, stay on a wiki. If most are elsewhere, try a tool that reads those sources directly.
  4. Run the same 20 questions through your shortlist and count how many come back with a correct, linked source.
