The best Glean alternative for a 10- or 20-person startup

Glean is built and sold for large companies, with no public price. A startup wants the same thing (ask a question, get the answer from Slack, Drive and Jira with a source) without a sales cycle. Here is what that costs.

What is the cheapest Glean-like tool for a 10-person team? For a hosted tool, Enhanciar Team at $100 a month flat for up to 10 people, plus your own AI usage (a few dollars per thousand questions on a fast model); it answers from Slack, Gmail, Drive, Notion, Jira and GitHub with sources and drafts follow-ups for approval. Per-seat tools like Notion AI Business, Slite Pro, GoSearch Pro and Onyx Cloud cost about $200 a month for ten people on yearly billing. Onyx is the cheapest if you self-host and run it yourself.

For a 20-person startup

Be aware of one limit: Enhanciar Team covers up to 10 people. A 20-person company is on Enhanciar Enterprise, which is priced with you; email the Enhanciar team. At 20 seats, per-seat tools land around $400 a month (Notion AI Business, Slite Pro, GoSearch Pro, Onyx Cloud), and Dust Pro is €600 a month billed monthly.

What a small team actually needs from a Glean alternative

  • The right five connectors, not 275. Most startups need Slack, Gmail, Google Drive, Notion or Confluence, Jira or Linear, and GitHub.
  • A link to every source. If people can’t check the answer, they stop asking.
  • Self-serve sign-up. Set it up on a Friday afternoon, not after procurement.
  • A predictable bill. Flat pricing, or per-seat pricing you can multiply out.
  • Something after the answer. The ticket filed, the reply drafted, with a person approving.

Where Glean is still the right call

If you are growing fast toward hundreds of people, need certifications on day one, want it hosted in your own cloud account, or need connectors for a long tail of apps, Glean is a strong product and worth the sales process. Enhanciar’s SOC 2 Type II audit is in progress, not finished; it has no Microsoft Teams app and no CRM or HR connectors yet.

  1. Sign up at enhanciar.in and pick a plan (Solo $24/month, Team $100/month for up to 10 people).
  2. Paste an AI key from Google (Gemini), OpenAI or Anthropic. It takes a few minutes on the provider’s site.
  3. Connect the places your team writes things down: Slack, Gmail, Google Drive, Google Calendar, Notion, Confluence, Jira, Linear, Zendesk, GitHub or a database.
  4. Ask the ten questions people asked most last month. Every answer links to where it came from, so you can check it.
  5. Add the Slack bot so people can ask where they already work, and connect Claude or Cursor over MCP.
